About the Role

Our Client has an opening for an energetic, well-rounded communications practitioner at the Account Director level. In this role, you will direct small to large-scale multifaceted programs, manage outreach efforts for clients, and serve as a relationship manager for both fellow team members and clients. Our clients will depend on you to offer smart ideas, be a strong writer, possess superior organizational skills and execute approved communications plans in ways that deliver measurable results. The ideal candidate may have a background in transportation and servicing government accounts leading communications programs, but these are not requirements.This role is a remote position. Candidates who reside in the Washington DC area are preferred.

Responsibilities:
Develop innovative, results-oriented communications plans and other strategic planning documents for client review.
Lead outreach and communications campaigns for clients, including federal government agency clients.
Manage traditional and digital programs for clients by understanding their needs, monitoring relevant news and online platforms, uncovering placement opportunities and generating positive coverage.
Write key messages, news releases, talking points, web pages, blog posts, Op-Eds, fact sheets, email correspondence, social media copy and other persuasive materials.
Manage vendor and internal department relationships, such as paid media and creative.
Initiate and manage productive partnerships with third parties relevant to the client.
Oversee ongoing campaign reporting on behalf of discrete projects and client accounts as a whole.
Plan and execute events for clients, as needed.
Manage other discrete projects and analyze the results within the client’s overall program.
Share actively in recommendations, ideas and strategic responses to client situations with internal account teams.
Motivate and manage colleagues to encourage professional growth and exceptional client service.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of agency experience supporting and managing public relations campaigns and/or communicating on public affairs issues preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Creative, strategic thinker with excellent written and oral communications skills.
Proven experience managing small to large multifaceted communications programs and account staff teams.
Experience developing or managing partnerships.
Familiarity with emerging trends and tools across the communications landscape.
Strong desire and ability to contribute to the firm’s growth, marketing and business development.
Solid interpersonal and supervisory skills with ability to work in teams, as well as the initiative to work independently.
Honesty, integrity and a commitment to the highest professional standards.
Superb attention to detail.
Proficiency in all Microsoft office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
